How close is Adox MCP 312 to MCC 110

I've been working on getting together a show of prints and I decided that I would print a lot of 5X7s on RC paper to begin my editing process. I've been printing on the Adox MCC 110 as that is what I have and I've fallen in love with the quality of this paper. Part of me wants to just print the show on the RC but I feel i need to do it in FB to do it right.

So my question, before I drop good money on the 11X14 paper is how close are the too?

I should add that I originally had been leaning towards printing everything on Ilford Warmtone but these RC prints are changing my mind.

Adox MCC 110 is fibre-based and the resin coated equivalent is designated MCP 310 is. MCP 312 is the same emulsion but only available as resin coated paper with a pearl finish.

From a technical point of view:
Dmin is dependant on the base material and that is different. So the reflective, or even luminescent, characteristic of that is of influence and thus the emulsion does not tell the whole story.

Assuming nothing has changed in recent months - it's been a while since I stocked up - the curves are different. The FB has more toe. They're both lovely papers, but they render with different tonal scales.

I guess I mainly meant the overall quality of the print as in warm or cold tones, gloss etc.

I'm still leaning towards Ilford Warmtone, because I know it will be consistent and I can easily get it, but I just realized that they sell a sample pack of the Adox so I may give both a shot and see which I prefer.

Afraid now I'm unsure as to just what your question is.

MCP 312 is different from MCC 110 in tonal scale, surface finish, the way they respond to toner, and maybe other ways. The same is true between Ilford Multigrade RC Warmtone and FB Warmtone - the curves are different, the surface finish is different, response to selenium is different, etc. The differences are even greater if you're comparing one of the Adox papers to one of the Ilford WT papers.

The bottom line is, these are four excellent but quite different papers. If you want a consistent look, pick the one you like best (for whatever reasons - esthetic, processing requirements, whatever) and stick to it.
