Fuji Film UK have minimum order requirements from Japan. If they can't sell that fast enough then they won't order it. So just because Fuji UK don't sell it doesn't necessarily mean it's out of production. It does indicate that if a market the size of the UK is not buying enough 220 for Fuji UK to supply it, then maybe its days are numbered elsewhere too. But its a minor inconvenience compared to shutting down an actual film.

Prices hold up well for Fuji products from other online vendors such as Discountfilmsdirect.co.uk, and people like Silverprint. They're also competative against Ilford and Kodak offerings.

If you shoot a lot of Fuji material its certainly a good place to look IMHO.

I haven't tried the black and white materials they produce, as Ilford products are good quality and widely available retail, and Fuji don't do an equivalent of SFX which is my tryout film of choice at present.

Now if they did Sensia process paid in 120 I'd be very interested indeed.

Since I'm not in the UK it doesn't benefit me yet. But they did say they plan on international shipments later on.

Not sure if they just mean EU-land or if that will include USA.

I got the 5% discount thing prices seem reasonable, I didn't even realize they still sold Superia under the Press brand.

I ordered ten rolls of slide film from them on Friday, package arrived yesterday. Can't complain about that sort of service, but I was a bit miffed to be charged £7.04 for postage when the package arrived in a Jiffybag with £1.78-worth of stamps on it ...

Richard. Shipping costs on the site seem to be as follows: Value of goods up to £10 =£2.50; £10.01 to £50 = £3.50; £50.01 to £150 = £6.00; £150.01 to £300 = £8.00' over £300 = £10.00.

Presumably there's a rounding up involved but it should have then been £8.00 and you had presumably bought over a £150 of goods. I wonder how £7.04 was arrived at. I suspect but have never actually weighed film for postal charges vis a vis the value of it, that for high values of film but low weight then the rounding -up is considerably in their favour as would seem to be borne out by your experience. Could it be that if Fujilab makes a profit of £5.26, based on your figures of postage and packing , that this helps offset some keener prices on Acros?

If this had happened to me I'd be writing to them. I don't mind rounding up but if it works in their favour to an extent out of all proprtion to the actual cost as seems to be the case from your experience then the site ought to be up-front about it.

Incidentally while the price of Acros is very keen, I did a check last week and did it again today. Mathers of Bolton will sell you ProH400 x36 frames at £3.19 but Fujilab wants £3.49 although this comes down to about £3.29 per film for a 5 pack.

You have to pick and choose and work out the cost over a range of film before deciding. Most won't, in the same way most won't wander between Sainsburys, ASDA and Tesco when shopping, even if the supermarkets are close to each otherp and the supermarkets rely on this kind of shopper inertia.

Yes, the order total was 74.88+VAT so with p+p of £6 that works. The mixture of inc VAT and exc VAT amounts on the invoice is probably the most confusing I've ever seen e.g. "sub total £84.24, VAT £13.59, total £91.28". What?

Anyway as I said before, the service was first class otherwise.

Fujifilm's own 'Professional Film' shop, linked by Rob, seems to offer only pro colour films and proc-paid Sensia. No b&w or non PP Sensia on there. Fujilab.co.uk is the home of what used to be their own lab; I may be wrong but I have some vague recollection of it cutting loose from the importer/distributor sometime.

I'll continue to shop with Mathers, whose prices for some films are cheaper than the above. They always had the quickest service I've known and keen enough prices. No contest.

Fujilab.co.uk and Choose-film.com are not Fuji UK own sites. The fact that they have close trading links with Fuji is not particularly relevant when they only sell a small fraction of Fuji's products that are available in the UK.

Any Fuji registered Pro-lab, or Fuji Pro dealer can claim to be a FujiPro shop and offer Fuji film & other products in exactly the same way.

Well, the one you linked to seems to flog digital cameras and has the word "Consumer" prominently displayed.

Whereas the new Fujilab one seems to sell film and has the word "Professional" prominently displayed.

It also clearly says "Copyright 2008 Fujifilm UK Ltd" on it.



It wouldn't seem to take a rocket scientist...

Actually Rob C posted both links I merely referenced them again. It's very odd that Fuji should have a bespoke online shop on their own UK Fujifilm site, and then a second OS Commerce based shop run separately. Both sell professional materials, that seems extremely amateurish.
