Gainesville,
I have just purchased a VH-R with 105mm and 180 mm Horseman lenses, and I just love the camera! Its relative portability vis-a-vis a 4x5 camera, allied to the availability of movements, has really excited me.

Anyway, I'd like to hear from people who have used non-Horseman wide angle (say, about 50mm) and telephoto (say, about 240mm) lenses on this or the 980, 985 or VH cameras. I understand the limitations of using non-cammed lenses; what I'd like to hear about are options that have worked, their technical feasiblity, who did the adaptation, etc.

Many thanks for your help!

Joffre

Joffre,
I usd to have the VHR and used it with both 65 and 75 horseman lenses. It was doable but not comfortable. You won't have much in the way of movements, and a 50 noway

Hi Joffre

I would not go shorter then 65mm on thad camera.
It would be better to buy the 4x5inch adaptor and buy a 6x12 rollfilmback and use a 75 mm or 65 mm for very wide shoots! Then you are much wider with a 65mm then with a 50mm on 6x9!
I have the Horseman HF 4x5 and I can use a Rodenstock 55mm but it is really not easy and only 4-5 mm shift and really hard tko focus.

Better late than never...I managed to find the "bumped out" lensboard and use the 210mm from my 4X5 set-up on the Horseman 980....great stuff!
