Horseman VH-R First time user.

I'm a Horseman newbie so excuse my ignorance. I just got my first Horseman VH-R camera along with a Horseman Super 1:765mm lens. I bought the lens separately from the camera. When the lens came in the mail the lens board was to big. I ordered the correct sized board and now every thing now fits. The problem I now have is that I cannot get the lens to focus. I believe I lens pulled out to the correct Infinity Stop which I believe is the white one. I take it I will need some sort of recessed lens board.

White stop and cam for 75mm lens. You may need to check the infinity stop positions are correct.
Not sure what 1:765mm lens is.

I just found a manual for the camera on the web and it looks to me like the infinity stop for the 65mm is behind the one for the 75mm. Which puts it almost into the body it's self. The color for the 65mm is green and it looks like there is no green stop.

Getting more confused.

Yes sometimes there are not the five cams that you see in the manual, depends what the previous owner was using with it lens wise.

How many cams have you got for it?

Probably take a while to get your head round it all if you are not used to using this sort of camera but worth the effort.

Did you get a roll film holder?

I have three. The 65, 90, and 150mm. I ordered a roll film holder when I got the camera but they sent me one for a 4x5. The correct one is on it's way from Japan.

The lens came on a lensboard too big?? I can't imagine that, as all the Horseman 6x9 cameras, and even the 4x5 field cameras take the same lensboard. The lenses come near permanently attached to the boards with the synch cable and actuating mechanism for the solenoid.

65 and 75 share the same infinity stop, so both need to be on the same style lensboard.

VH-R takes either style lensboard (early or late) but if you are sharing the infinity stop between the two lenses, they both need to be on the same lensboard type (so the flange focal distance between the two is the same).

This, of course, only applies to use with the rangefinder. If focusing on the Ground Glass, the lensboard does not matter.

Here is an image of the lens on it's original board and then the board I got to replace it. The original board is approximately 95x95mm and the new board is 80x80mm.

The first board looks like a Graflex board.
