I’m considering making the jump to large format, and I’ve settled on Horseman Optical Bench System.

But I’m having a hard time deciphering the differences between the various models I find on fleaBay.

What is the difference between the L45, the L45EM, LX, LX-C, and EX? Which is generally considered the “best” and why?

Long time the Horseman cameras were not advanced movement-wise. In the 1988 catalog for instance they still got no yaw-free model. The advancement to the top happened late.
