I was not aware they made a 6x8 back. If so, that is very neat, but I thought that you were supposed to get nine pix from 6x8. Are you sure it is not a 6x9 back? It looks like one, based on the picture of the film gate.

Yep; if it has a Graflok back (or a spring back that has been semi-permanently modified to accept only roll film holders, i.e. glass removed). Horesman also made them to fit 2x3 Graflok backs, but this one is for 4x5.

Will the roll film back be in the same focal plane as the focus screen?

Sounds like 6x9 to me. Usually the stated dimensions for a format to not exactly match the actual dimensions of the image. Is the "bargain" condition rating due solely to cosmetics, or are there any functional issues?

Strictly cosmetics. For a "real" photographer it wouldn't matter one bit.

About $13usd to California using surface uninsured. For 5 business days around $18usd. Please add a few bucks for packing materials.
