Want to Buy Hoping to find a good 8x10 camera after deal gone bad.

Hi all. I was all set to buy my very own 8x10 camera, a Wisner 8x10 tech field, pretty well used, but a good price. The seller was a reputable and experienced photographer not too far from me, which I was excited about.
But he reneged and took a better offer after we agreed on a price and a pickup date. Oh well. I guess it’s hard to keep people honest these days, or maybe it’s just the Wild West of first-come-first-serve, though I would have gladly jumped in my car last Wednesday when we set things up. Oh well.
Sorry for the gripe, but I’m a bit chafed and disappointed.
I have generally found the photography community generous and helpful and honest, but there are problems here and there I guess.

I am writing here to ask if anyone has a field worthy (ie not a heavy monorail) 8x10 that’d they consider selling me…? Or loaning for a couple months for my project? An old Kodak Master, Tachihara, Wisner, Phillips, etc. would be great.

Hope there’s someone with a camera out there not getting used and might consider helping out.
Let me know your thoughts.
Maybe the photography gods will shine on me yet!

I may take the plunge on a large format to get started with film. Use my digital for everyday stuff and have an 8x10 or 4x5 for landscaping and fancy portraiture, things like that. You know if it's much good? And also, heard it takes lots of different lenses, but I've heard large format lenses only work on specific cameras. I think a good 150mm lens would work nicely if you know of any.

For entry level, it's pretty hard to beat. I have no hands on experience with it, but I have only heard positives. Check out YouTube, if you haven't already. I like to use 150 or 120 lenses with 8x10, but I do not know how well this camera can handle short lenses.

If you only need the camera for a two-month project, it's probably better to rent one. That way you can get what you want -- instead of an Intrepid (read other posts on this FORUM about that camera).

That actually looks like a good deal. I'd only really need to buy a tripod for it. Going to look at a few options before I decide. Strongly going to consider paying for yours, I'd rather support members inside this community than a faceless corporation.
You have any recommendations as far as tripods go for something like this? I wouldn't need anything crazy, just a plain wooden tripod if I could get it.

Thought about it some more and may get into 4x5 first and see how I like that. If I do go 8x10 I'll definitely look at yours though. Still trying to decide on everything, though. Like the idea of a monorail as opposed to a field camera, though. Doesn't pack up as small but you can do more with one.
