Sort of a noob question here, but I am the new owner of a Wista DX/Zone VI 4x5 and wanted to get an extra lens board. The ones that came with it are flat, with square edges, 96x99mm. I've read that the Linhof Technika boards will work, but as I look at the shape there are bevels at the lower corners and cutouts at the bottom of the board. My question is, with this different shape to the board will it fit the Wista? Or is there a different Linhof board I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance!

I believe the answer is that Linhof boards (with the cutouts) will fit on your Wista, but Wista boards will not fit on the Linhof.

I have 6 lens boards, all either generic, 3d printed, or actual logo-attached Linhof, and they all work on my Chamonix.

thanks for your answer - that's what I was hoping. Although the branded Linhof boards are crazy expensive it seems. But compatible is good enough for me!

Just about any Technika style board should work. I have the same camera and have used Wista, Shen-Hoa, Zone VI, generic from China, etc. The only issue I've ever seen is that all these boards seem to vary in thickness just slightly. Therefore, you have to find a workable "sweet spot" for how tight the clips are screwed down.

Thanks - I hadn't even considered thickness.

Any Technika-style board should work well on your Wista. I've only had trouble with one Gaoersi board that was a bit too thick (filing did the trick. All you have to do is make sure the hole for the shutter is the right size
