Hasselblad made a few filters for this lens. They are bayonet 104 size. They include a haze, yellow, yellow-green and orange. B+W still makes some B104 filters including red, green and yellow and a polarizer. Hang on though, they are very expensive. B+H has them on their website. The hood is a big rubber job and can be found used from time to time. KEH has one right now for $89.

That is actually a fair deal. I have a 40CT* for over a year now and I am still looking for a front cap. I do have a shade and it cost me about $ 80.00 and a I found a case for $ 20.00. You can use either a lens hood or a filter but not both because of the way they mount.
I went to a biker "leather" store where they do custom saddles and side bags and commissioned a leather hood / cap like you would find on a 300mm F2.8 lens. We lined it with a microfiber cleaning cloth. This guy did a basket weave pattern on the leather and it is sweet. People comment on this thing all the time. Now that I bring that up I should take a photo an post it, maybe get him some more business.
