Does anyone have experience with an Honor 35mm f 3.5 LTM lens? Some seem to think it a rebadged W.Acall lens but I am not sure if that is accurate.

If this is the lens you're talking about:

then, yes, I own one that is labeled as a Komura lens and have used it -- it's on my Leica IIIa as we speak (as it were). Nice little lens, well built, and acceptably sharp. Mine could us a CLA because the f/stop ring and the focus are both a bit stiff, but usable. I see one on the auction site for hundreds of dollars; I can't remember what I paid for mine but it wasn't a lot. I've attached a photo taken with the lens (Neopan 400 at 800 in Emofin).

Does the rear lens element protrude like the Jupiter 12?

No. The rear element does not extend beyond the part fo the lens helical that contacts the rangefinder mechanism in the camera bod

How would you rate it compared to a Canon 35mm f2.8 or a Summaron 35mm f3.5 ?

I haven’’t used it all that much, but based on what I’ve seen I would not rate it as highly as my Canon LTM 35mm f/2 lens (I have no experience with the f/2.8 lens). About the same as my Summaron 35mm f/3.5 in tonality, though the Summaron may be a bit sharper. I’ll switch computers and send along a couple more photos made with the Komura lens.

The interior doorway and the restaurant photo are taken with the Summaron; the door/Red Bull can photo and the man at the bar photo are with the Komura. The man at the bar was a snap shot, so may not be as sharp as if I'd had time to settle and shoot. The Summaron photos are Tri-X developed in 510-Pyro, whereas the Komura photos are Neopan 400 rated at 800 in Emofin, so hard to compare given the film and development differences.

"W. Acall" and "W. Honor", what do these designations refer to?
