Is it possible to apply a silver gelitain emulsion to a film or plate while keeping the temperature under 80 degrees or so farenheit?

Prob'ly not, though I'm not well versed on such things. Consider that your silver gelatin emulsion is similar in many respects to Jell-O. With 80° being easily around ambient temperature in some climes, I wouldn't want my emulsion running all over the place when trying to expose—unless I were doing wet plate. But then I'd be using egg white, methinks.
