Homemade instant film

On Apug been a few threads about instant photo.
It so interesting that I decided to start a little project.
Just for fun, no commerce, no competition for the Impossible or Fuji.

I spotted a lot of patents about diffusion transfer.
Basically this U.S. patents, but there were also several Soviet patents.
Not all of them contain enough detail to begin to take the first practical steps, but I have to start stepping.
I will make a sandwich for diffusion transfer.

My first question.
Can I use as light receiving layer a regular negative film?
If not, what are ideas?

Yes. Basically that is the way all diffusion peel-apart b&w processes work.

Next step - squeezing toothpaste?
I've seen a couple of recipes, such as:
Water--180 cc
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (high viscosity)--6 g
Sodium hydroxide--9 g
Sodium thiosulfate (penta)--10.8 g
Amidol--7.2 g
Ascorbic acid--1.8 g
Sodium sulfite--6.5 g

There is also a recipe with 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole.
