is there a device which can take the negatives and create positive video files? If so, what is it,and how does it work? I really want a way to use my old Bolex effectively.

Any decent video editing programme will reverse a hegative image to positive. It is supplied obviously to reverse video positive to negative as an effect but works in reverse just as well.

This a link to my efforts with black and white film. Kodak 8mm, standard and super8mm works well.

Telecine system was just projector and video off a small screen.
