This proves I'm not nutso about having a collection of olde cameras. A little off, maybe, but not 'round the bend.

I emailed them about the stickers...hopefully they aren't what it looks like. Most of the boxes look like knock off zooms by siligor or whatever on further examination. I am sure there are some lovelies in there. Hopefully the stickers aren't really what they seem!

You know, pack rat though I am, I don't quite understand what drives *this* sort of collection mentality. Large numbers of, not just consumer zooms, but the *same* consumer zooms? Why?

Undoubtedly there is plenty of nice stuff in there. I see a couple of promising-looking 6x9 folders, maybe a MF SLR, and something that appears to be a Mamiya TLR body. But there are whole stacks of identical-looking Auto-Coligon boxen, for instance. I'm all for people collecting whatever floats their goat, but does anyone understand what motivates a collection like this?

Nathan, I have trouble telling what's there in any detail from the pictures. They give the impression that the deceased bought out a couple of dead camera stores. And they remind me very much of the heaps of, mainly, junk that the Duren (Brooklyn Camera Exchange) and Vinegar (Photorama) families take to camera shows.

I missed the sale but found the thrift store everything else went to. Sadly nothing of interest, just broken fungus ridden junk at way too high prices for a thrift store.
