The deal is in Chicago. Dead Link Removed is why he is selling.

My sincere apologies to galyons and other outside of chicago who took time to look at this thread.
Send me a receipt for your time and I will reimburse you.

Thanks David,

It hurt my eyes looking at this fellow's website. The same high-contrast tonality infinitely repeated...especially the indian ruins. It is if he saw one of Sexton's locally bleached images of ruins and said "I bet I can do that digitally."

And I do mean, thank you, David -- that site was an educational experience...of what not to do (over and over and over again).

Vaughn

The sidewalks of America are littered with similar (or better) equipment, waiting for the trashman to come and haul it away. Incidentally, I didn't see an enlarger in that list.

As Bill says,
It is a little on the precious side
I think its way over market. Unused or not it's still on the used market

You have got to be kidding me. If that list of items goes for $1000 it's an absolute steal.

Lets see now...what would it cost to drive to chicago (while there...visit my family) and then pick up my new equipment? hmmmm....

I often wonder if those kind of "you gotta take it all, you gotta come get it yourself" deals ever sell. Sounds like a hassle. Does anyone here need ALL that stuff? Remember Weston and his swinging lightbulb out in the shack...

Damnit! This frivilous waste of bandwidth continues!

If you don't post on a thread, does that conserve bandwidth for your future post(s)?

Can you build-up "bandwidth credits" by not posting and then "sell" them to blabbermouths like me on the "bandwidth secondary market"? :D

It will go for $1,785. What's your guess?

Since when has needing ever had anything to do with wanting ? Personally I got most of my darkroom gear from pick up only auctions, and most of the time they're a real steal because of the hassle they seem to suggest.

I'd have no trouble with picking what I want from that haul (plenty) and parting the rest back out on eBay. I wish I was close enough to go pick it up too. I think it'll go for slightly over $2k.

If it wasn't for this thread I'd say the auction wouldn't recieve a single bid. Because of the thread I'd guess 3 bids with the auction ending at 1,300.00.

I like the stainless beakers and the magnetic stirrer is kind of cool, but since there is zero chance of my bidding I guess I'm just wasting bandwidth as well.

So ya' figure that "exposure" on APUG is worth about 30% over the asking price?

Maybe Sean could cut a deal with eBay and get a piece of the "APUG-premium"?

Since were betting- I'm in.

Put me down for no takers. The big donut.

What do I win? Anybody want to wager?

I'll put up one of these:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Closest bid- 0 bid being $1000

It's getting to the point where the best way to get a darkroom is to stand in the street holding a sign that says "Please give me a darkroom". Ho hum; it's an ill wind. I have managed to dramatically upgrade my own for next to nothing.

David.

I reckon there will be 2 bidders.
The first will have a max bid of $1,050 & the other guy will top him & get the stuff for $1,100.

Have to agree 100 percent...
Digital black and white looks too much like an over blended mix of infared, high contrast and moon light for my taste.

That's how I bought my (smaller) darkroom setup. More hassle means it normally sells for a lower price but depending on the circumstances it may not be a hassle. The person I bought from only lives approximately 5 miles away

If this auction had come up 4 months ago, I'd be prepared to rent a truck and go to Chicago and get it. Just the sink, print washer and temp controller are worth well over a grand.

The magic words are "smaller" and "5 miles." If you're just setting up a darkroom and need everything, chances are you're looking to spend a hundred bucks and not a thousand. I bet he'd have better luck selling it in peices.
