I am a New Media Projects Specialist from University of Utah where I focus on documentary storytelling. After my BFA (photo) I pursued an MLIS while working at an academic library and although I may shoot at 24fps my passion will always be at 1fps. As I get older I am starting to miss the smell, and feel of a darkroom. I am shooting with my next project on film (4X5), slowing down to think about the picture, the frame, time, and connection. Scanning negs, creating d-negs, and printing PL/PD, Zia, etc...
Glad to be here, again.
“It’s strange how deserts turn us into believers. I believe in walking in a landscape of mirages, because you learn humility. I believe in living in a land of little water because life is drawn together. And I believe in the gathering of bones as a testament to spirits that have moved on. If the desert is holy, it is because it is a forgotten place that allows us to remember the sacred. Perhaps that is why every pilgrimage to the desert is a pilgrimage to the self.” TTW
Hello Tony, glad you've found the APUG community. If you're located in Moab you might have met Bret Edge, Tom Till or Guy Tal. All three are Utah based photographers. Bret & Tom right there in Moab.
Tony, I absolutely love Sunrise Parriott Mesa. I hate using catch words like fantastic, beautiful and grand. But there it is. Wonderful photograph. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope your stay is fruitful. Welcome to the group.
