Well it came in today--my long awaited Vintage Deardorff Marine Corps version V-11---yep, it's the real McCoy too!! I'm excited-let me go wipe up!!
similar here: http://deardorffcameras.0catch.com/v11/v11.html
not exactly the same as the militay version. The camera is
much more robust than I expected and beefier than the one shown ---looks like its had maybe 10 sheets of film through it as the back is original , unrestored and like new--literally!! Yea, it wasn't cheap but then an 11x14 usually isn't----throw the Deardorff name on it and well, you know!! Thanks Santa--psst!! just don't tell my wife!!
hmmm! takes standard 6x6 lens boards too!! More rigid than I expected for a vintage camera---go ahead and make my head swell !! Go ahead!!

Did it come with a tripod? Is it true the spiked ends could double as bayonets?;-)

Congratulations! Where did you find such a treasure?

Yeah, congratulations. Perhaps you can dispell the rumor that Marine Corps Deardorffs produce olive-colored, drab images. Hup-ho, ho, ho.

Sorry! No tripod but apparently it takes a special one as it has an odd mount (should still fit my Ries J 250 DT one way or another!) It was listed in the LF newsgroups classifieds about three weeks ago! I assumed it was a BS story but it wasn't as I have it and it's a gem. I'll post some images (of the camera) soon!! It is a NFS model--no problem here with that !! It does have that lighter O-D (Marine version not US Army) colored bellows--no kidding!! It looks fabulous!!

Will you be making your portrait subjects give the Marine Grunt instead of saying 'cheese'?

Hooo-ah

I don't get jealous too often............but DAMN! I'll be OK in a minute...

"you shall not covet your neighbors V11"...."you shall not covet your neighbors V11"...."you shall not covet your neighbors V11"...."you shall not covet your neighbors V11"....

not helping. I still want one!

Did it come with a Yak to pack it around for you?
