Hi all,

Although this may not be the designated forum for this kind of post, I post it here since I think it is most appropriate to the large (and ultra-large) format photographers. Some of you may already know it (I think the exposition was even due to have closed at the end of May, but it seems to have been extended), or have even visited it, and it may have been announced on APUG before, but anyway:

Today, I visited the Antwerp Fotomuseum in Belgium (http://www.fotomuseum.be/). Not knowing it was there, I stumbled upon a historic camera exposition based, according to the documentation, on an Agfa / Gevaert collection.

My jaw dropped to see some of these camera's :surprised: ...

A camera with a 1*1.25 meter(!) groundglass and a 3(!) meters bellows was one of the centerpieces of the exposition... Talking about "Ultra large format"...;-)

Many other beautiful camera's, including some really old ones for daguerreotype...

One of the most interesting things (at least to me) was a full setup of a historic viewcamera including a mobile darkroom for wet collodion(?) plates development all out of a single box. It was set-up like if the photographer just left for a pee or so... You could imagine him returning any moment and putting his darkcloth over his head to start preparing a wet plate....

Waaauw! :D

If any one of you is near Antwerp in the coming weeks, do visit!

Marco

Unfortunately, I am not one of those photographers carrying his tripod and camera around all the time... and since my cellphone is still from the stone ages , so no XX M pixels, not even a color screen, you'll have to do with my description... until someone else reading this thread decides to visit Antwerp and make up for my failure!
