on this small video he is candid about his conceptual thinking and methodology. it seems he negotiates a nice tension between modernist aesthetic concerns and conceptual framework methodologies.
any other fans/students of contemporary b/w photography out there?
I like his work. There is a documentary about him, only a short clip of it on YT. The DVD is quite expensive, about $70 & only runs half an hour or so I think. I don't like hos work that much.
el watcho, your link has disappeared? I saw his seascape photos at the MFA, big fan. Also really like his Theaters. Not so sure about the lightening stuff.
I find Daido and Araki interesting as well, not sure if I would consider myself a fan of contemporary B/W though. I think Sugimoto is the only one I can say I have seen I enjoy ! Dare I say, what are some others you folks appreciate (that I might then too!)
