There is a magnificent show of equally magnificent photography by Hiroshi Sugimoto at the Hirschhorn Museum through May 14th. Don't miss this one.

There are also some of his photographs (but not many) at the Sackler Gallery of Asian Art as part of his History of History multimedia show through July 31st. While not as impressive as the Hirschhorn installation, it's just a few hundred yards down Independence from the Hirschhorn so it's an easy stop on your way to the Metro.

The Hirschhorn really pulled out all the stops putting this together. The curating is every bit as artful as the photography. The whole package is an utter triumph.
