Hello!
the question for TLR lovers.
Does anyone by chance know where could i get a strap like this: http://flickr.com/photos/scape/3723908526/sizes/o/?
the point is i need belt fastenings, not metal ones (rings).
on ebay so far i've seen only metal fastenings like this:

but those don't suite to my autocord or rolleiflex i'm going to buy.
and of course i want the hippie colors)))

I've got one very similar to that, a tad wider though I think, and more of an orange colour. It lives happily on my Yashica Lynx

I used to have straps like that - back in the 70's. I'd send you one but they all wore out and are gone. In the photo, her socks clash with the strap - typical hippie.
And Tony, my first one was a guitar strap - worked fine.

Holy freakin' 60's Batman! I think I finally threw out the last strap I had laying around just a couple of weeks ago. Find aa nice strap that you really like, and get creative with how to fasten it. I'm sure a clever person such as yourself can cobble something together.

I get mine from garage sales. Sometimes I'm forced to buy the camera its attached to! Most of them, though, have the sort of fasteners shown in your illustration. Perhaps your local camera store could get you the correct fitting, and you could find a way to mate the parts? When I got my Rolleiflex, I just happened to have a suitable strap down in the junk basket.

In 1975 I had one similar to that rigged up to my Yashica 124G. The Yashica case had rings for it. Now days, I'm back to the original black strap....

Okay, like we did in the 70's, take the clip off of both ends, and attach your prefered size of small key ring from the hardware store.

This creates nice brassing or other rubs where you might not want it. :D

There's no accounting for taste :D

The 1970s; what were we thinking? :surprised:

I still have 2 or 3 of these in the "archives". I actually still use the denim one occasionally ...

Have fun getting the connectors for the lugs on the Autocord. I bought one a while back without a strap and I'm still unwilling to pay the amount that they usually go for. KEH had an autocord strap a while back and wanted $67 for it.

Yard sales, flea markets and and occasionally consignment shops. I got an absolutely mint one a couple of years ago, with an H3v and 3 pristine Super-Taks. I recall it was English made.

I actually purchased Donna a real hippie strap for her Nikon N65 for Christmas. The strap weighs about what the camera does!

Gee I'm still using my "hippie" straps that I bought in the 70's. It's funny whenever the young'uns see them they always want to know where they can buy them. It's nice to be hip once again lol.

I always wonder why we put down 'hippies' and 60's and 70's. I always thought that was a good piece of history.
