Hi all,

I wonder what is the highest dmax obtainable from Vivera inks on matte paper?

Today a friend of mine said that they're getting log 1.9 dmax w/ matte paper (densitometer zeroed on that particular paper's white) and I find this unbelievable! Did the printer / ink technology evolved that much indeed?

Back when when I was printing using Piezography Selenium Tone inks the best I could get was something around log 1.6...

Thanks in advance,
Loris.

Yes it probably is true. In fact much higher densities than that can be measured with certain ink/paper combinations, in excess of 2.25 log density.

I know you are a DMAX freak Loris so don't let this get you overly excited!
