High speed 'push' films and contrast.

I've often read that T-Max 3200 and Delta 3200 are low contrast films designed for pushing. I realize they aren't really ISO 3200 films. Heck, TMZ even has a 'P' out front to denote this. However, I question this 'low contrast' bit. The rolls of TMZ I've shot at rated at 'true' speed (800) and developed accordingly printed just fine at grade 2. The contrast of the final print was pretty much exactly the same as prints made at grade 2 from T-Max 400 and Tri-X 400, both rated at 400. So, how exactly is this a 'low contrast film designed to be pushed?'

I can't speak for Delta 3200 in this case. Maybe it really is different.
