High school photo students required to think about ethics. Miraculous.

I found this link via the comments on my blog (www.photodino.wordpress.com). A high school in Idaho assigned their photography students to read my "advice to aspiring photographers" article, and post detailed feedback on how it applies to them, both in photography and other aspects of their life.

There are 90+ entries the last time I checked, and although it's too much for me to read thoroughly, I'm finding the feedback entertaining and fascinating.

So, my hat's off to Coeur d'Alene High School for going beyond the how-to-compose-and-use-photoshop, and getting to the philosophy behind the art.

That is so cool, CJ. I copied and paste as a notebook file that is on my desktop and gets read once every couple of weeks or so. Don't have to be aspiring to take something away from it. Just objective and open-minded. Thank you again for such a great bit of photographic philosophy.

I wrote the teacher a note a few days ago, and got a nice one in return last night. He mentioned that he specifically asks his students to write their names in that manner so they can't be found as easily via google search. It's a safety precaution, and a smart one.

Makes sense. I just concluded that "texting style" was much more popular with the yutes than I realized.

Glad that *my* generation didn't do anything silly like that. Nope, nothing silly at all.

They're high school students, so they'd be in the 14 - 18 range or so.
