For any of you interested there is a hidden pond in the Journal Center. It is located just south of the PNM Reeves power plant. There is a bikeway that crosses the North Diversion Channel that can get you there. The pond has an island with cattails, nesting red wing blackbirds, several ducks, and quite a few other species of birds. It's fed with runoff from the numerous lawns in the business park. There's a drain at the west end that empties into a spillway. What's great about it is it isn't visible from any street or parking lot, so JC security and APD won't see you shooting.
