Hi

I'm an amateur photographer, these days mainly using digital cameras (big fan of foveons) but gradually slipping back into collecting and occasionally using film gear. I tend to dabble in this or that, so I've ended up with quite a lot of clutter that sometimes has only been used once or twice. I like using legacy or other non-standard lenses on digital bodies (A7S, A7Rii, AFDii, EM5ii).

The reason I joined today is I bought a Dallmeyer Press camera a while ago, and found (heard) the mirror fall off after I fired the shutter a few times. Today I got it out again, and now the shutter is acting up as well, so the question is whether it can be repaired. Unfortunately I assumed that you probably set the shutter speed after cocking the shutter, but I now see it's the other way round - yes, I can sometimes be that annoying person who fiddles with stuff without knowing what he's doing. In my defence: it's not always clear that you need to know!

Anyhow, thanks for letting me join!

Joe

Hi Joe. Welcome. I am a relative new comer here myself. I hope you, like I have, find this forum interesting and fun. Larry

Hello and welcome. Thanks for joining the 12 step program. You will never graduate. Nobody does. I use my foveon for digitizing my film when needed.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Interesting, I have sometimes wondered what the performance of foveon would be at digitizing film compared to other methods (or cameras).

It works very good. I use a beseler slide duplicator and mount the sigma above and use an enlarger lens.
