I just joined the community, as I plan on doing more digital photo, and also renew my interest in B&W film - home developing and enlarging, all on very modestscale.

I am in Eastern MA.

Digital is with my Lumix LX7, modest and not too overly complicated.

As I like to tinker and like reviving older stuff, I plan on
- clean up my beloved Nikon FM
- crank up a prisitine Olympus pen F, thrift shop find
- fire up a craigslist DeJur enlarger circa 1950, which needs leans board, neg carrier

A friend gave me some developing hardware, a Super RicohFlex 2 1/4 and an Exakta VX IIb. The Exakta is doubtful, but the RicohFlex, has potential, with some learning.

I appreciate having access to the forum members' extensive knowledge, and may, from time to time, ask for help!
 
Hi. I hope you're authentic but your other 20 comments being, well, without actual words (various emojis and punctuation marks) makes you seem ... a little suspicious.

 
I already had reported him as spammer.


As I did not see this thread show up in his list of postings.


This shows that such way of introducing oneself not only is impolite, but may get one kicked out before having started.

Could all be legit, but just seems all a bit strange. Leaving smiley, lovey faces, and multiple empty replies... reviving very ancient threads...

He’s obviously posting random stuff to hit the 20 post requirement to start making his own threads.
 
Well… could be but it’s a rather obnoxious way to accomplish that goal.

This dude is definitely a scammer. Here’s his response to me when I asked if he would sell via PayPal Goods and Services:

“I really wish i could
I understand your plight
But I’m not looking to rip you off your hard earned money like i said earlier
Its just that i don’t have a setup
So i either use my secretary’s mail or a family’s available (this is my cousin’s)
And just to avoid issues with the account or any kind of misunderstanding that might delay shipment is why i decide its best to use zelle or paypal F&F for any transaction so i can have payment withdrawn immediately without any hold and have shipment made out immediately
If it was a personal account ,holding payment wouldn’t be a problem
I hope you understand
But i can also do half payment prior to shipping and other half after you receive and confirm item
Thats the best i can do and i assure your shipment

One other option is a paypal donation link i can send to you and you send via GnS
That way you can still file a dispute if things goes sideways(which is definitely never hon happen)
No pressures to sale tho

Sad... very sad. From the initial introduction I was a bit hopeful. Photrio really needs greater participation from digital photographers.

The mods have addressed this one and the other that joined this morning who also acted suspiciously.
 
I still think requiring a month of forum membership would dissuade a lot of these scammers.

He is not gained full access.

I believe that his behavior is being evaluated and Sean and the monitors tracking his actions to see how his actions develop.
