I've just restarted building computers with a camera shutter tester using the Aduino. I build my first home computer using an 8-bit SCMP chip in 1976 and built desktops from scratch until the high clock speeds demanded double sided boards and commercial boards were available at a reasonable price. I now have HP workstations that are many times faster than the Cray computers that I worked on in the 1990s!

Welcome aboard @roger80 ! I've never actually built a computer in the sense you used to, although I've assembled a good many from them out of stock parts. Nowadays, I get by on second-hand office desktops instead. But I suppose we do have some overlapping interests when it comes to microcontrollers; one of my hobbies next to photography is building microcontroller circuits. I started out with Arduino (clones) as well, but nowadays don't really use any Arduino hard- or software anymore.

Welcome to Photrio. I got started on a 286 in 1993. And a blazing fast, I think 14k? modem. Many a shareware game was downloaded from BBS.
