Hi from Tennessee!

Just a hello! It took a bit to find you guys - I heard a lot about APUG but didn't quite make the connection to Photrio. I've started shooting more film in the last 2 years (35mm) with my "vintage" camera that I received brand new 15 years ago. About 9 months ago, I bought a Mamiya 645 and 2 months ago a 645 AFD ii that sadly broke tonight. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix the rear catch hooks. I also dug out some old point and shoots and my 110 pocketstar from when I was a kid.

I'm also developing a gen. ed. course in chemistry - the chemistry of photography - at the university I teach. I've received some great help from someone who has already implemented a course and I was looking on here for some more toning information earlier today.

Oh...them's fighting words. We're MOCS here in Chattanooga. The Vols are in Knoxville!

And, btw, we lived in Riverside - up the street from you - my husband was born there! We moved away about 10 years ago and lived in the midwest before settling in TN.

ETA: I had to say that since I teach at the University here - the Chattanooga Mocs.

Aw....that's too bad. I think, part of it, is that my department head has an interest in art and is himself a photographer. So far, I've been amazed at how many of the professors have poked their heads in and asked what we were doing. I hope I can keep the momentum going. I'll keep you guys up to date.

Hi! I had to look up where Ten Mile is. We've been here for almost 5 years now, and I feel like I've been a hermit. I bet you have some gorgeous spots along the river where you are.

My problem with Tennessee was driving in the fall on the interstate on a day with low patchy clouds at road level. Every time there was a break in the clouds with the gorges, water, fall colors and clouds, I could not find a place to pull over so I could get out and take photographs.

Yes. I have a very similar problem. We should really report that to TDOT to plan some more convenient pull-outs.
