Hi from sunny North Norfolk (UK)

I'm a retired fanmaker (folding fans, that is), and seriously retired, so please, no repair requests !

I have a background covering a wide variety of crafts and sciences, and with some years as a school lab. tech., called upon to invent/design/repair all manner of things.

But now, taking on the job of steering my grandson towards analog photography via his home schooling, I've presented him with a 1/2 plate Underwood that I've had, but done nothing with for an embarassing number of years.
I'm going to introduce him to various alternative chemistries for producing images, so I need to get the Underwood up and running, so expect me to throw up all sorts of weird questions in the near future.
The first one will appear in the apropriate forum shortly.

BTW: Watch out for the annual outing of the Norfolk Large Format Shooters - Should be taking place on 21st September somewhere between Sheringham and Holt.
