Hi everyone, I'm Daniël Oosterhuis, I'm 18 and from Siddeburen, and am into analog photography. I always have had an interest to do something with photography, but didn't really pick up on it until last year, which is when I went full out and decided that analog would be the way to go. It's not the only interest I have that I do analog, as I also still mess around with vinyl records and tapes, and the physicality and more thought-out nature of analog photography lured me in! Especially for landscaping and nature photographs.

After messing with some compact cameras, I've gotten my hands on a Praktica MTL5 35mm SLR for a measly price at the thrift in great condition. Along with it, I got a bunch of lenses for a similar low price, and one of those lenses is the Jena Biometar 80mm 2.8 M42 lens, which I have grown a great liking to, and it has become my main lens, as my Praktica has become my main 35mm camera. I have also already tried a little bit of medium format with an AGFA Click and Clack, but I hope to get a TLR at some point, maybe a Yashica Mat 124(G) or something like that.

Anyways, I hope that I can learn some more here, and be part of the analog photography movement

Welcome from a fellow photographer in Mississippi. A YashicaMat or Minolta Autocord are superb photographic tools. Good luck if you buy a TLR and keep experimenting.

Hoi! Siddeburen?? Had ik moeten opzoeken.
Welkom bij Apug!

Welcome to APUG

I have traveled in the Netherlands several times and loved it.

Welcome to APUG! TLRs are great - after years of shooting with bigger and more expensive MF cameras, I've gone back to my first love, the Minolta Autocord (Yashicas are also very good cameras).

Welkom! Er is op dit forum ergens een "Practika appreciation" thread..

You're 18 and hopefully on the start of a long, exciting journey. I'm 70 and have had a most interesting 51 year Journey.
