Hi, I've just discovered this forum - so glad you all exist! I have a lot of expertise in Polaroid image and emulsion transfers, SX-70 manipulations (so sad that the film is now discontinued), handcoloring black and white prints an transfers, plus black and white printing, etc. If you have questions with these processes, perhaps I might be able to help. I teach workshops (see my current workshops in the workshop forum), have some books out - Polaroid Transfers, Polaroid Manipulations, and To Honor the Earth. Check out my website at www.kathleencarr.com. Look forward to joining you!

Kathleen

Welcome Kathleen! There are a lot of us who are still mourning the loss of our beloved SX-70/Time Zero film, too.

For those of you who haven't read her books on Polaroid transfer, lifts, and manipulations, they are fabulous!!!

Welcome to APUG, Kathleen. It's great to have a Polaroid expert here (in addition to Tracy Storer, of course, who pops in occasionally). I've done a few transfers--slowly working my way up to 8x10".

Honaunau is on the Big Island near Kona, no? My wife grew up in Honolulu, so we visit the islands regularly. We'll be spending two months on Moloka'i this summer, with a few trips over to Oahu to see the family. Other APUG types in the islands are Robert Teague on Oahu, and Christian Olivet on Maui.

Hi Kathleen and welcome to APUG.

I started polaroid transfers/lifts and SX-70 manipulations last year. Love doing it and its a refreshing break from the darkroom.

Aloha Kathleen, Welcome to the forum from the city, Honolulu. Glad to have another film type join us.

Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I'm in the midst of getting ready to sell my home of 19 years in Sebastopol and move to the Big Island full time, except for trips back to the mainland to teach.

Honaunau is 20 miles south of Kona. I would love to connect with other Hawaii photographers, because I only know two!

There are two more on Oahu; one owns ImageWorks in Kaimuki and the other is here for a 6 month contract. Neither posts AFAIK.

Welcome to APUG, Kethleen!
