Hi
I used to shoot BW, do all by myself. Since 2003 I basically switched to digital.
I shoot for local media. Lifestyle, features, portraits, food, documentary.
This month I started shooting film again.
Bought some Minolta AF SLRs, nice inexpensive primes and zooms.
I chose Minolta because I can adapt the A mount lenses for my Sony A7ii and A6000.
I also got some Nikonos II and III that I like because all manual
Tried Tri X, but I do not like as much as I did in the 1990s. I found Kentmere 400 more pleasing (but maybe I processed the roll better). I am sticking with T Max 400 and XTOL 1+1 (although debating whether HC-110 may be better for my style).
with cameras so cheap i did some shot by shot comparison between films.
I develop in a Paterson plastic tank (never liked steel reels and also steel tanks do not seem to allow measuring the temperature during the processing). 20 to 24 C depending on the tap water and ambient temperature. I got dev times and temp conversions from Massive Dev Chart (not sure how reliable those times / temps are).
I do not have room / time to do wet printing. I bought a Epson V550 scanner, but i ended up reproducing my negs with a macro lens, light box, copy stand, enlarher neg carrier or a slide duplicator + neg carrier.
I get raw files, invert the curve in Lightroom.
My website is http://stefanogiovannini.com but need to update to the latest 2 years.
