Just joined up as I am starting to shoot more film for personal projects again.

My name is Jason Berge. I am a commercial photographer from New Zealand. I work exclusively in digital for my clients, but am old enough that I started out professionally shooting film. www.shoot.co.nz for examples of my work.

I am now at a point where I can pick and choose what I do and so have decided to do several personal projects on film. I have been to the site over the years and thought it was about time I jumped in.

Several

I shoot mostly with a Fuji GX680III, but also have a Sinar F2.

At the moment I am just trundling around the district shooting old rural buildings that catch my eye on Ilford FP4+ and developing it in PMK Pyro. Seems to be keeping me out of trouble for the moment between commercial assignments.

Later on in the year I hope to do a portrait project with some friends in the tattoo community.

I'm based in CHCH and looking to find where NZ folk buy their paper, before I push the button on a substantial B&H photo paper purchase.

Hi Tim,

I am still shooting film. In fact I have just started a year long book project (for a paying client no less) and shot eight rolls of 120 on Monday and will shoot more on Friday. Alas I am one of those heathens that scans his film and prints digitally. So other than the usual suspects of Photo Warehouse or Photo and Video, I also buy most of my supplies from either B and H or Adorama. Sorry to be of no help there really.

Always interested in catching up with fellow photographers if you are interested, perhaps a coffee sometime, just a thought.

Ha ha Jason - It kills me to scan film unless it's getting published... And even then I'd mostly rather scan the print or a photo of the print.
So I went and ordered a roll of paper last night, hoping it scrapes in under the GST cap and I'm currently eyeing up some agricultural spill trays to use as developing vessels. I have been working a city project for a few years, that's just got to see the light of day & would be impossible to print digitally without hours spent on photoshop. I shoot analogue to get away from LCD screens, 'memory limits' battery death etc.
Coffee sounds good are DM's on here?
