I sorta stumbled onto this site by accident while looking for information on C-22 Film Processing machines. In particular, the thread asking who had worked in Photo Processing labs which I have.
From about age 14, I have owned several types of cameras starting with a Polaroid Instamatic. Later, I progressed to a 35mm SLR (high school camera club property) and several cell phone cameras including a Blackberry and a Samsung Galaxy S-5. Later, I acquired a Canon Powershot A40 and now I have a Canon EOS Rebel XTi (10MP Digital).
I've always been interested in photography but I'm by no means a professional. Gifted amateur at best, I suppose. While I thought about photography as a career, I could not afford quality equipment until after I had joined the military service in the mid-1970's. Instead, I did a full career in the U.S. Navy. My training was in Electronics with an expertise in Metrology (sometimes refered to as measurement science).
I have a strong interest in the sciences but my primary interest is in physics and astronomy. I have an 11in. dia. reflector telescope in my back yard which I bought after the close flyby by the comet Hale-Bopp.
