hello all. new to apug (just subscribed). i've been into analog photography since high school (about 15-16 years now). i have always preferred rangefinder cameras (small and medium format). currently i shoot mostly 35mm and large format (4x5). probably 75% of the photos i make are black and white. the 35mm goes with me everywhere (leica cl), and the large format comes out for camping trips, hiking, etc. have been a member of the rangefinder forum for a bit, and just found APUG today. seems like a great place so far! anyhoo...that's me in a nutshell.

I think we've read some of the same books - unless your email address is "root at eruditorium.org".

Anyway you've found a great place, and will soon accumulate more cameras.

Welcome to APUG from England.

Andy

ole: indeed we have! probably my favorite set of books to date. i'm very happy to have stumbled upon this place. it does seem great. i REALLY don't need more encouragement in the camera accumulation department though ;-)

Welcome, fellow Neil Stephenson fan. You'll enjoy the light repartee and bad spelling here. We're an amusing if not a bit anal bunch.

You won't find much disagreement around here as to the value and quality of this site. Welcome. Every new viewpoint and background just makes it richer.

A little Leitz/Minolta CL with 40 and 90mm lenses that I bought new, much too long ago to mention without crying, is my "carry it everywhere" camera. I love it.

thanks everyone! seems like a lot of satisfied members (always a good sign). been poking around here and there, and it seems like a great resource.

flotsam: nice to see another CL "carry everywhere" user out there!

SchwinnParamount: thanks...stephenson is probably my favorite author. now i'm just anxiously awaiting a new book. after the baroque cycle, i'm sure it will be YEARS!!
