No connection whatsoever with the seller. Just thought this was cool to look at:

Now THAT'S a serious piece of machinery. Looks like it weighs five tons. I'll bet it eventually goes for less than a tenth of the posted asking price.

That's an Omega D5-XL 4x5 to the left of it (first photo) and I believe a Saltzman 8x10 to the right of it (second photo). Note the ceiling cutout above the column. Must have been a killer darkroom.

Ya gotta check out his other items for sale. You need to buy the Unimog to move the enlarger!

The nice thing with such a built is that one can use it as a drill stand too...

I hate ads that say local pickup only (of course) but then don't give a location... or did I miss that somewhere?

enlarger

I can top that. When I first moved to this town 40+ years ago to go to work in a trade shop They made printing plates. A buddy had landed a job at the local newspaper and the powers to be decided they would start doing their own color separation So they bought with no input from any one else, a 12 x18 enlarger!!!! The news paper’s photographers all used 35mm SLR’s He had problems to say the least!

Duncan, it's down the road from me, On Long Island.

I'm tempted to make an offer of $500.00 !

I'd be there bright & early tomorrow morning to ' pick it up ' ...

Duncan,

In adds like this one, the location is generally given under the tab "other item information," on the right side of the screen.

I asked them how much it weighed. They said 800 pounds! If you want to pick it up, better bring a fork lift!

The Durst 10x10 I have now was listed at $2400 and I offered $500 and got it. So be careful

Space is an issue. I used to have an 8x10 Devere, looked a bit like the one pictured, man it was huge. I had to build my previous darkroom around it! When I had to move, the enlarger had to go (no 8x10 camera in those days) so I gave it away!
