Is this a recent purchase? Does it have the original foam seals? If so, I would replace those foam seals and then shoot another roll. This would be my first guess.

thanks. i am adding another photo from the same film. can you see this bright line. is this light leak ? or me not loading the film correctly ?

Hi,

as the bright part is always in the same place - and has a very sharp line, I do not think it is a light leak. Could it be that the shutter gets stuck? I do not know the mamiya 645 but i have seen a similar problem on a 35mm SLR. The shutter did not run smoothly, and therefore the negatives where overexposed in part of the image.

maybe the experts around here will have a better idea of the reason for this problem.

Curtain Repair

The closing shutter curtain is hanging as it comes close. A good camera repair service can fix it for you quickly.

thanks a lot. does the shutter curtain needs to be replaced ? (i asume it wouldn't be easy t ofind a new one).

In the US check KEH.com. If you are across the pond, the postage may be a little rich but worth it.

That's my guess too. The line is too sharply defined to be a light leak. I have an old Canon FTb that exhibits the same problem, though in a different orientation since the shutter runs horizontally across the film gate rather than vertically as in your camera

It's usually an adjustment, not replacement situation.
