Is there a way to test your print after going through the washing process to see if you removed all the fixer? I don't have a pro washer and have been using two tubs w/ agitation and running water with a tray of fixer remover between the two washes and the prints look clean but how do you know for sure?

PF sells a residual hypo check as does Edwal (or Edwal did, not really sure if they still do).

The at home test is the HT-2. Ilford's formula; a 1%
solution of silver nitrate. The test is done drop wise
so very little of the nitrate will go a long long way.

Test using a procedure you feel of interest. An
example: after fix a rinse a hca a rinse then hold.
After hold a first tray wash; one hour. Then dump
or transfer for a second two hour wash. Agitate
intermittently both washes.

Conduct test in subdued light and check soon after
blotting dry. Test dried paper and leave the drop or
drops on for 3 minutes. To evaluate results bring
lights up some. No stain is my standard for a
clean print. Dan
