Hello,

Just a short question : what developing time should I use with Rodinal 1+25 with Agfa APX 400 and Fuji Neopan 400 ?
I'm asking tis because I encountered different sources with different times:
Fuji Neopan 400 (EI400) + Rodinal 1+25 : 4.5 min and
Fuji Neopan 400 (EI400) + Rodinal 1+25 : 6 min
and
Agfa APX 400 (EI400) + Rodinal 1+25 : 10 min and
Agfa APX 400 (EI400) + Rodinal 1+25 : 7 min
Now I don't know which are the good ones.
Thank you very much.

Merry Chrismas to everyone

In general I have used the times as written on the Rodinal packaging. APX 400 1+25 68f 7 minutes, Neopan 400 1+25 68f 6 minutes.

One can assume the manufacturer "knows" what is the correct starting points for development.

However, these may not be optimal for YOUR specific developing conditions. You, like everyone else will have to develop, evaluate and adjust to fit your requirements.

Thank you everyone. I think I know now: there are two versions of Agfa APX 400 , old and new. The old one needs 7 minutes and the new one 10 according the last given link (the one in german).
The only thing I must know is what version I have. I tink is the new one (expires around 2010) and on the box (carton box is written Agfaphoto not simple Agfa and the logo is a red point not a red diamond like the older one).

Rodinal 1:25 I used to go with 5.5-6min. 1:50 for 10min.
Avoid 1:100 for 1 min unless you want severely underdeveloped film.

For Neopan 400 in Rodinal I normally alway use 1+50 dilution. I find for landscape shots i get more detail in the sky's (especially when no filters are used) at 1+50 than at 1+25. I develop at 1+50 for 11 minutes at 20 Degrees C
