Help with exposure tag on camera

Hello,

Can you help me decipher this exposure table. It is a Airesflex TLR. I live in the Midwest and no mountains. Thank you ib advance.i should clarify, I have basic knowledge of sunny 16. I get tripped up on left column as it applies to no seashore or mountains at my location. Not sure on double exposure at bottom as well.

That is an exposure table for a film that appear to have been ASA 25. Select aperture on top. Select scene on left edge. Intersection gives you shutter speed; if you don't like it, change the aperture on the top row.
"Double exposure" means that any of the listed conditions, taken alone, requires twice as much exposure as indicated by te table. For example, f/8 becomes f/5.6, or, 1/50 becomes 1/25.
Not very helpful with today's films that mostly start at ASA/ISO 100.

What does "Light" (or maybe "Light Filter") in the last line refer to?

I guess: any common contrast filter.

Any suggestions if using 400 b& w film? I was just going to try an use the sunny 16 rule but the speed only goes up to 200 on the camera.

Sunny 16 on a bright day with ISO 400 film would be 1/200 second at f/22.

They forgot to say the latitude for which those exposures are valid!

Two suggestions:
Light meter
Slower film

Like Rollei RPX 25? Or Ilford Delta100? The Rollei is expensive...

Simple enough, multiply shutter speed by suitable factor.
ie; 4 so 1/50 becomes 1/200 for 100 speed film, work out the adjustment factor one time and you are set for life...
Or think about moving location so you can use sea shore and mountains.........

If you want to use that table without correction then use the Rollei 25.

But if I were you I'd use 100 speed film and a meter. Hey... I was you once upon a time and that's exactly what I did! My old Rollei has a table like that (with none of the important information about the required corrections for month or time of day) but I found it to be a cute curiosity more than a useful tool. Back in its days it was useful.

Thanks for the help all. I ordered some Ilford 50 iso. I found a broken camera with a gosen light meter for 20 bucks on craigslist. I also downloaded a 3 wheel cutout exposure guide. Let the fun begin.

Given that it has has "diaphragm" as part of the legend, I don't think it's an exposure table at all.
Rather, it seems to be some sort of guide to contraception.
Or possibly conception.

Right on. The gosen light meter works great! And I took the FM2 apart and got the film advance un-jammed and now have another camera. 50 ISO will be here Thursday. Life is groovy.
