Hello everyone!

I have a compact camera that only reads DX films( or set it automatically at 25 iso) so I have to buy DX black and white film. I want to use 400 iso mostly but also 100. (I am preparing myself for a trip:smile:
Can you check please your film canister and tell my which films have a DX code?
There is an update list somewhere? or a place in Europe where I can buy?

Thank you very much!

Hi!

All Ilford/Kentmere, Fuji and Kodak cassettes have DX codes.
Agfaphoto APX, Rolei RPX and some Fomapan cassettes are also DX coded.
Some Rollei films like Retro aren't.
Foma has run out of the DX coded cassettes for Fomapna 100 and maybe others.
The new Foma Retropan 320 Soft might not be available in DX coded cassettes.

This is the best I can do from the top of my head.
I'm not sure about the Adox films without looking at the cassettes.

You can go to online retailers and check their pics of the cassettes, or just Google it.
Some retailers, at least in the UK, warn of cassettes not being DX coded.

For your intended ISOs, I recommend Ilford FP4+ and HP5+ or the cheaper Kentmere 100 and 400 ISO.

All Kodak films in 135 have the DX markers. I believe that Fuji and Ilford also have DX markings in 135. Not so much in the other formats.

At one time you could buy DX coded stickers to put on cassettes. You can also buy re-useable 35 mm cassettes.
