Could anyone point me to finding a replacement signal cord for the Fujimoto. It's a DIN connection and I am wondering if there was anything specific about obtaining a cord. Thanks for any info!
I don't see anything electrically or otherwise special about the cable (no electronics in the cable itself), looks to be a standard DIN connector. It seems like there aren't many off the shelf 3 pin cables, but the connectors themselves are readily available at places like Digikey or Amazon, it'll probably be easiest to just make your own.
'yeah I imagine that's what I am going to do. Is there any info if you actually need the signal cord? Last owner of the unit said paper will auto turn the dry unit automatically but I haven't had luck getting it to turn on as it has gone through. Not sue if having the cable will change that?
Anyone have any idea what the pin out would be for a custom 3 pin DIN cable as a replacement for the signal cable? Not sure I have the correct info for making a custom cable.
As far as I can tell, the cable just sends a signal whenever the IR sensor bar on the inlet rack is activated/tripped, the print dryer turns on for I think about 20 minutes after it last receives a signal from the main unit, and the replenishment pump runs a 'cycle' about every 20-30 seconds while the bar is tripped. I'm not able to set up the machine itself at the moment to probe the connector, sorry. I don't see any way for the dryer to turn on/off without a signal from the main unit, there's no sensors for paper as far I can can tell in the W/D unit, just temperature sensors for the dryer. I just did a continuity check on the cables, going off the pin numbers for the SD-30J here, the ground/shell on one end connects to the ground/shell on the other end, pin 1 goes to 1, 2 to 2 and 3 to 3. No crossovers or switched pins.
I've also attached the manual for the W/D unit, in case you don't have it.
I’ll just keep updating this thread as I continue try figuring out how to make a custom cable for anyone else to reference.
Below is the email where my knowledge ends with what info I am able to provide unless anyone knows. What gauge and type of cable needed.
“There are way more than 2-3 possibilities with a 3 conductor cable. Some pins might not get used which adds a lot more choices. If 3 pins were used on either side, there are 9 possibilities alone with them.”
