Help pricing Hasselblad kit

Okay, I know the details are lacking but this is what I've got right now. I've been offered the following gear:

Bogen 3221 & Manfrotto Basic Ball head
Hasselblad camera body - 500 Series
120 back x2
80mm lens
prism viewer
grip
case
Light meter/Gossen (has flash meter function, really nice)
spot meter ( not digital, older, but great and easy to use)
small soft box for handle flash & a handle flash (almost new, great shape, Sunpak)
extra tripod
Strobe-O-Frame handle (sp?)
extra ball head quick release plate or two

Missing model #s unfortunately. He's willing to give me a good deal on the kit, and I've gotten some things from him before and they were good in condition and price.

Any thoughts on what you would pay?

You need to know what model camera, what version lens, what vintage magazine, what model Gossen meter, what spot meter, what extra tripod, etc.
Differences in price between possibilities can run upto 2x - 3x, or even lots more.

You also need to know about the age and condition of the stuff.

As it is, your question reads something like "what would be a good price for a car".

Hassey,two backs,prism finder,80mm lens,hopefully the waist level finder (I use that the most even though I have a meter prism) $ 300.00 to $500.00, (for these items only) the rest of the stuff if you need it another $200.00 to $400.00 depending on condition. If he needs cash fast $700.00 for all sounds like it would be a great deal.If you need it probably more. I would consider the grip,case, extra tripod,flash and exc. not important. Gossen is good meter,what make of spot meter is important , they are general useful .Well thats my cheapo offer.

Q.G is right about condition, I assumed you would have a look before committing,if you are familiar with this equipment. It's real easy to spend some ones else's money.

Any word on condition or age? both the lens and 500 series camera body would require CLA if not done in the last 2-3 years. It makes a difference if a CLA was done 2-3 years ago or never. Cheapest CLA for a lens would go for $150 and for the body $120-130. Something to think about...

Condition should be good, but hasn't been shot in a few years. I figure a CLA is in order.

500C is likely 60s or 70s. May not require a CLA, but best to assume so. My lightly used 500C is fine and I bought it used almost 20 years ago. If lens is a "T*" lens (it will be labeled as such), value is greater.

Are you sure they are A12 backs and not the older "C" style? If the have a little porthole in the back covered by a flip up dial than they are the older style and worth less. Backs were also made for "superslide" with a 4.5 x 4.5 opening. They are worth a lot less. 6x4.5 backs get a slight premium.

I think anything over $600 for the Hasselblad gear may be high unless a recent CLA and/or a T* lens. Less if the older style backs. Unless you will be content with only an 80mm lens, price out 50mm and 150mm lenses before you start down the Hasselblad path. But it you're patient, you can get each lens for $200-250 (older, non T* style).

LunaPro F probably uses 2 625 batteries and may require a converter to work properly with currently available batteries.

I'd stay at the low end of your 800-1000 range for all.

Luna Pro F uses readily available 9v batteries and is a very good meter - worth around $100-$150 if working correctly.

I am. The price looks good, we could use the tripod as well, and he's a good guy. We bought gear from him in the past that was in good condition and a good deal as well.

This will be my first 'Blad. Going to have to sell some other MF gear to fund it though, but I imagine it will be worth it.

While I have a number of 2000 series 'Blads, I've been using my 1969 500C much more often in the last 4 years. It's a beater to look at (I brought it back from the grave!) but with a Maxwell screen installed ($150+) it is a wonderfull camera.

I use a 1959 80mm 6-element Planar with my 500C. Both my body and lens were serviced by a factory trained service person who knew what he was doing. I spent about $450 on the repairs plus the Maxwell screen. If sold today I would not get anything near what I have sunk into my 500C. I don't care, I take photographs with it! I have the latest WLF with a +2 dioter in it (another $175) and the new style tripod plate ($50) on it.

The key to the market value is if the black 80mm is T* marked (most likely it IS T* coated even if not marked as such). And as mgb74 asked, if the backs are A12 or 12 style. I think the value is in the $600 range for the 'bald stuff by itself as well. The meter and the flash stuff make it a good deal.
