Help please stuck shutter
My synchro-compour shutter containing a xenar 135mm f4.7 lens will not cock. Examination show one of the iris leaves (??) visible and stuck open [see attached image]
1] Is there a simple solution, if so what?
2] Is there a recommended place in the UK where rhe lens could be cla'd
regards
Tony

This is your shutter disassembled. Screws 109 have likely come loose allowing the shutter blade to fall out of position.

All the timing, cocking and release mechanisms have to come out first to get to this stage. This is not a shutter you want to start off learning shutter repair on. Collar 204, blade controller 202 and associated parts attach to plate 201 then blades 208 lay in marked sequence on the bottom pf plate 201 then plate 201 assembly sits into the main case, a PITA to assemble.

My advice to you would be to take the money that the repair will cost and invest it into a modern lens, unless that lens is something special to you. You could do the repair yourself, but putting shutter blades and diaphragm blades back into shutters is no fun at all, and if you have never taken one apart before, you probably are going to end up with a box of parts instead of a working shutter.

Don't know what country you're in but Newton and Ellis are good but so is Carol at Flutots.
