Hi all,
I have a Durst M670 B&W enlarger.
Yesterday my Siriocon 80 (medium format condenser) has fallen on the floor, and one of the two glasses has broken.
Anybody can help me to find a new condenser (or a single glass of it)?
I've checked every place I know, but I found nothing.

Thank you a lot,
Lorenzo

I would check Ebay or the equivalent listing service in Italy for used darkroom equipment. My guess is that a complete Durst M670 enlarger will be cheaper than a new condenser. Otherwise, check with a Durst repair facility--I'm sure they still have parts.

It is possible to make a new one, I have an article but unfortunately it's back in the UK ( I looked at it again in May). Essentially circular condensers are not expensive and a glass workshop can cut it to fit the holder, which presumably is repaiable if not broken. You'd just need the right diameter/focal length to start with, The article told you how to DIY everything.

Northern Photo in the UK might be able to help.

I'd like to thank you all for your kind and useful answers.

I've contacted Durst directly: I was sceptical, but they have the condenser available yet. By the way, resummerfield is right: its price is higher than the average price of the whole enlarger on Ebay.
I've also checked Northern Photo, I hope they can provide it at a lower price.

Ian, the holder and the other glass are not damaged, so a glass workshop could be a valid option... do you know if the two glasses are identical? In case, I could bring the mint one with me, and ask to replicate it.

Well, these are my first posts on APUG.
I hope I can give my little contribution to this great community... thank you again, and sorry (in advance) for my poor English.

I just checked, and I have a Durst Siriocon 80 to spare.
If you want it, I'll trade it for a print.

Interested?

For anyone that has damaged a Siriocon condenser: The Sivocon 80 condenser glass of the Durst M601 (which enlarger is often offered for free) is exactly the same size as the Siriocon 80. The Siriocon glass can be replaced with it.

Just wanted to publicly say thanks to Jesper.

He immediately sent me a Siriocon 80 condenser, and he didn't accept money from me (not even to cover shipping costs).

It's heartwarming to see that such generous people do exist...

Well, as requested, I'm going to send him one of my prints (I don't know if he will repent after receiving it... :rolleyes:smile:

Lorenzo,

Apug people are incredibly generous and you were right to post your need here. That's why I belong to this community... I was given a used camera body by an awesome apug member (MattKing) and he really appreciated the print I gave to him as a gift to say thank you.

I have been looking for a Siriocon 80 for my Mod 70. Is the Sivocon interchangeable with the Siriocon or is it just the glass which is the same? I can't find an affordable one.
