Hey hi people.
I have always had intrest to shoot film. My geographic location makes it hard for me to get a good film camera and resources to shoot film. I'm traveling to Czech, Vienna, Budapest and zagreb this April. I wanted something help finding a good cheap camera from any of this place and shoot these locations on film. I would really appreciate it if you could recommend me some film camera shops from any of these places. Thank you in advance. 😀

Based on many years of personal experience, I recommend Camera31 in Vienna's seventh district, which is relatively central in the city and easily accessible.

Franz Gibiser runs a small but very well-stocked shop for secondhand cameras and accessories.

Personal advice, fair prices and purchase without risk are a given. Franz passes on his knowledge of cameras from decades of experience, and there is always a nice conversation.

I bought a lot there and also sold some items, and can recommend Camera31 without reservation:

About 100m from the Skoda you can find Foto Pazdera, more boutique and antique style store, they can have more items for sale, than Skoda. Nice to see both. Viena has more opportunities, however. Jo Geier, for example, expensive, but full of attractive items, the classic Leica Store is a history unfortunately, still, they are there under new ownership one block from Jo Geier, the third store, I have never visited, is on the other side of the street.
On my next visit I will check Camera31, mentioned by Andreas, it looks promissing.

It would be nice if you tell us about your experiences here if you visit one or more of these stores.

The center for old photographic equipment in Europe 🙃

My hairdresser had her shop around the corner. When I returned home with shortened hair and a Nikkor 400/3.5 Ai-S, my wife was slightly irritated 😊

That's why I tend to choose hairdressers far from camera stores. Anyway, you're right Westbahnstrasse is probably the best place to find used equipment in Europe!

For Vienna I also recommend Camera31, its on the small side but very nice and competent.
Leicashop was interesting til the set their focus on Leica, 100m away is JoGeier with a huge inventory, the people are also very competent, some stuff and inventory of the old Leicashop will be there now- and opposite of jogeier is unitedcamera, its mainly a store for new gear, but they have always a nice selection of used, mostly digital equipment for very fair prices.
visit the websites of camera31, jogeier and unitedcamera to see what they have to offer.
everything is in a radius of 100m...
and when you are there - in the backyard of Leicashop you'll find Westlicht - a gallery and antique camera collection.
after that, round the next corner (Zieglergasse 34), there is photocluster, have a coffee, visit the small photo gallery and have a nice chat - its a shop, they do workshops, have a darkroom - a meeting point for young analog enthusiasts....
Enjoy!

Many years ago I stayed in Viena for a week during summer on holidays with my Canon 5D MkII as principal camera and a Rolleiflex 3.5F with some fast film as a second camera to play with by night.

But I forgot my battery charger at home, so I tried to buy another to keep shooting, I went to a camera shop and they offered me one for more than 100€. I looked behind the store clerk and saw a small fridge with film, I mediated for a couple of seconds, and I left the store with a pack of 5 rolls of Porta 400 120. The fear to use film dissapeared during this trip and since then I travel with my film camera only... 🙂

Excuse me for the digression, but some very fond memories came to me with words "Viena" and "film".

Roleiflex 3.5F and Portra 800 probably not very well exposed and developed.
