help me decide, digital or analog printing

Hello, I am a student photographer and want to one day sell fine art BW prints of my photos, I shoot medium and large format BW film, I have an epson v750 scanner and have an option to buy a very cheap beseler 45 enlarger and dive into learning wet darkroom printing wich I find facinating, or buy a good ink printer like a 2880 and learn all about fine art digital printing wich I see some photographers are doing sucsesfuly. (or third option buy both and learn the two) Thank you!

We can't help you decide. It's a personal choice; one you have to make.

It depends on what you like and what you value in a print. It depends on the type of images you are drawn towards.

All the different print processes, from silver gelatin to POP, from dye transfer to inkjet, all of them have their own strengths and weaknesses. It's up to you to decide how those strengths and weaknesses fit with your photography. If you choose the wrong process you'll be forever fighting it to get your prints where you want them to be. The right process will support you and make it easier to get to where you want your prints to be.

Rather than limit yourself to one process, it might be better to try a number of processes. That way you gain first hand knowledge of the processes and how they work with your art. That will give you more information with which to make your final decision.

The thing is, there are many paths to the waterfall. No one can tell you which path is your path. Thankfully many of the paths cross one another; it's not so hard to switch from one path to another along the way. And eventually you end up at the waterfall. If you work long and hard enough.

Sorry there's no magic answer.

The kind of print you choose is like your choose of camera and lense... its all just tools, you have to pick the right one that fits the expression you want to create.

The more tools you have, the bigger chance to make it just the way you want it to be...

So dont limite yourselves by not having enough tools..

Buy both, and explore both world... and take the very best from each of them...
