Ok, I decided to give up buying camera gear for Lent. Last night I deleted my AuctionSieve watch list. I'm hunkered down in my den clutching a ME Super and whimpering a little. It's going to be a long 40 days. Pray for me.

Give up giving up camera buying for Lent. Give into your GAS and the enjoyment will last years longer than the holiday!

NAS is an evil temptress... To see what I mean, just look at all my posts in the "Your LATEST 35mm SLR Acquisition" thread.

Are you crazy?. G.A.S. is an important syndrome. People that have it should be proud and take it to its ultimate consequences.

Back in the 80s I had a Nikon FTN, that I loved. I met a young woman in bar one night, and end of story, she left in the morning with my camera bag. Nikon, two lenses, Luna Pro F, and a 50 mm Leica lens. I guess she expected a tip.

It sounds like she liked the FTN more than she liked you.

Hopefully she didn't LEAVE anything for you to remember her by

Fungus survives on metal less than 3 HRS unless there are other secretions

Nikon F, "the Original" with the no meter prism, the special Pete Smith modified dual position rangefinder like shutter button and the non AI Nikkor 50mm/ 1.4 with metal hood. Just got this jewel.

Steve

I gave up religion for lent.

I have the worst luck with Nikon.

Check this out.

I found a FM that came with a bunch of good stuff.Seller said it wasn't working, bought it, I found another FM for parts on CL.
So the FM and the parts FM come the same day.
Turns out the parts FM was actually a FE.So I go find another FM for parts. While waiting for the parts camera I mess around with the FE its easily a KEH EX grade just has some dry lube to fix.
The FM has dry lube issue too, fixed that in 10 minutes.great condition
So the parts FM comes in,well took all of 5 minutes to fix that one too.Not bad condition.

So then I scored on a FA cheap, EX+ except the asa dial has a dent, works fine but hard to turn, so I hit ebay and find a FA for parts that the seller says has meter issues, apparently they aren't familiar with the FAs mode of operation, the fixed shutter speed until the film counter is on frame 1 and the cybernetic override fools people.
That comes in and works perfect, good condition just some strap rash above lugs.
So now I have 3 FAs and still have to find another for parts.
