Hey, Les! It's Andy from p.net. My addictions seem to be getting worse as well. My Nikon collection has acquired a 5005, an N90s, and F80, and a pristine Nikkormat FTN with a 55/3.5 Micro. All in the last couple of weeks! Unfortunately Ive also begun to appreciate (also known as 'buy') Minolta AF gear and it's beginning to grow pretty fast as well. The Minolta Maxxum 7 is a pretty nice camera! You should know by now that there's no help for us...

You want help from us? Seriously? This is the Support Group From Hell.

I like Pentax and K-mount. Back-up is important. I have a few bodies.

Mostly I want some help with giving away some of my stuff to promote film use... Hence the little contest in the link. I think I am one of the few that shoot both digital and film in equal measures and have shot both in a commercial environment.

Here is my take on what is still wrong with digital in 2011

Oh, yeah. I call myself lxdude, but that's because LXMXx3MESuperx2P3nandabunchoflensesandaccessoriesandm42stuffandnikonstuffdude is just a bit unwieldy.

Yea that is a bit of a tongue twister - I was think of...

Lei-Niko-blad-dorff shooter myself or maybe Hass-kon-ca-dorff? Hmmm both seem to roll of the tongue a bit better than F2F3FMFE501CMM6-dorff.

I know exactly how you feel. I am mainly a Nikon shooter, thanks to my dad. He handed me down his N2020, which I really enjoy. But, I recently bought a box full of Olympus stuff off of a lady who is trying to empty her house, because she's moving out of town. Turns out it had a Canon 50mm EF lens and a fairly recent Canon flash. Selling both has completely paid for this Olympus stuff, plus a little. I originally just planned to catalog it and use it to pay for a recent iteration of the Nikon 300mm f/4 lens, but it turns out that I got:
Olympus OM-1n, in great condition, functioning 100%
Zuiko 50mm f/1.4
Zuiko 100mm f/2.8
Zuiko 300mm f/4.5

I can't bring myself to put it on ebay yet! I don't want to get rid of it. In fact, I just bought 8 more rolls of film at Walgreens while I was getting a test roll developed. By the way, Walgreen's has Kodak Ultramax and Walgreen's house brand "Made in Japan" (a.k.a. Fuji, most likely Superia) both on sale, $8 for 4 rolls of 24-exposure film.

A quick shot I took, to make sure the camera works, don't remember the camera settings but it was using the built-in meter, 50mm lens, Fuji Superia 400 film. It was so great to see the negatives that the tech handed me; they were so nice and dark, full of data!

Yea - I had an OM1 at a point and liked it a lot. If I got into Oly gear that would be horrible - I would have to have an OM3ti or 5.

Wow, I couldn't imagine spending that much or more in 10 years, let alone in a single month. I am very happy with your push and plug for film use. I'm glad you are pushing the film experience to others. Oh how I would love to have an F3. For me, that is the ultimate goal for bodies. I was SO tempted to pick up the one a week or so ago that was on sale for about $100. One day though....

Well, I was addicted to Prakticas and M42 lenses... at a time, there were about 8 cameras with almost every possible lens from 28mm to 300mm. Mostly flea market finds. Now I'm back to one camera and 3 lenses in M42, because I switched to Canon EF. That effectively stops all the buying because it's cheap...

It's possible to beat the addiction, but why would you want to with such beatiful cameras?

BTW, that's just the 35mm stuff. Wouldn't want to get carried away. Now, someplace else I'm bronicadude, short for...well you get the idea.

The only known cure for Nikonophilia is a strong dose of LF.

But for some the cure is worse than the original dependency, simply exchanging one shameless addiction for another.

My addiction was so bad a year ago I had over twenty nikon bodies. But I'm in recovery and have widdled it down to just a short list of my favorites.

F
F2as
F3hp +md4
F4s
F5
F100 + grip
FE
FE2
D700 (don't hate me apug!)

The only nikon body I really would like to add would be the F6 (to complete my "F" collection). But they still cost too much.

We won't go into how many lenses I have. :-0

darn where are these bargains for a $100, I must be getting ripped off again. I have nikon gas as well. Over the past year I have got the FE2, F3, FM2n, FG, FM10, with a FA on the way.
If some one has a F6 or FM3A they are no longer using I have a lovely home with plenty of film and lovely locations near by

I've got it bad enough to have a new, unused F3HP+equally pristine MD4. Nikon Canada was clearing its remaining stock in 2004 and, well, who could say no? Not me.

Just this month, from the as-is section of KEH: a black FE2 and a chrome FM2n. $40 each. They appear to work, though both can use a foam replacement. How could I say no? They join an F2 and an F3HP. There's also a D700 in the cabinet, but they all seem to be getting along together. I had forgotten how much fun film is.
